すいれん組では、じっくりと集中して一人遊びができるよう、個人マットを利用しています。自分で個人マットとポストボックスを持ち、やりたい遊びをアピールするTちゃん。保育者が個人マットを敷くとすぐに、ポストボックスのパーツを取ってというように手を叩き、自分の意思を伝えています。三角、丸、四角、と視線を自分の手元に集中し、パーツを次々と入れていくTちゃんは、全部入れ終わると満足そうな表情を見せます。保育者と目線を合わせ、笑顔で ”もう一回”というように手を叩き、繰り返し遊びを楽しんでいました。
