We work hard to provide an environment where children can comfortably enjoy their daily life within the school. From sofas like at home to matts and futons where children can relax and lie down, dolls which the children enjoy, seasonal flowers as decorations, to opening the windows and allowing a comfortable breeze inside, we take care to create a comfortable atmosphere.
At Shinaikai, we deeply value an educational environment where children can feel as if they’re at home.
Creating a proper lifestyle rhythm through cooperation between children and caregivers.
Just how a mother or father feeds their infant at a designated space at home, we provide meals in the same way. Caregivers teach the importance of the action of eating and carefully watch over children, while sometimes helping and supporting them.
Children who can’t sit independently are held and fed. Children who can play in a seated position for upwards of 30 minutes sit in a chair at the table and eat. We carefully help them develop the habit of eating through 1-on-1 interaction.
A period of stronger self-assertion and preparing for independence.
The lifestyle rhythm developed at home is very important. In order for children to comfortably, directly be involved in play, their basic needs (sleep, food) must be provided.
It’s important for children at this stage to develop autonomy. To allow that development, we believe adults must wait for children to be ready themselves.
During infancy, discipline is formed through personalized care which shapes and forms lifestyle habits. Children who are emotionally stable, autonomous, and independent are more interested in participating in their surroundings directly. We also believe that they become a better member of a group. They grow and learn while participating in this sort of play.
Children’s learning abilities (basic learning ability) such as: concentration, memorization, imagination, creativity, critical thinking, planning, organization, initiative, are formed through actions such as: [Being interested], [Concentrating], [Continuing], [Imagining]. All of these are learned through “play”.
Lesson?
Children see and hear various things while playing and learn naturally. Caregivers provide planned lessons based on the necessary fields of learning for children. These are our ‘lessons’.
In lessons, we introduce contents in a way that piques children’s interests. The goal is to have children proactively and voluntarily delve deeper into the topic because of interest. Using experiences from daily life, we want to broaden and deepen their studies using real learning. We aim to further widen their infinite number of possibilities.
Lessons include contents such as the following.
Eurhythmics
We promote the development of basic motor skills through the use of music. We place importance on full-body expression in tune with the rhythm of a piano.
English
We provide english education to get kids accustomed to foreign culture and language. They develop listening skills through experience while playing and develop a foundation for speech skills.
Gymnastics
We cultivate children’s basic athletic abilities in line with their growth through the use of mats, horizontal bars, and vaulting boxes. Professional instructors teach children the joy of exercise and skill development without pushing them overly hard.
Picture Books・Literature
Children can enjoy a great feeling of happiness when they are being read picture books with a passionate voice or manner.
Food education
We foster “The power to produce food”, the basis for living a healthy and high-quality life, and in doing so cultivate the power necessary to live.
High Quality Toys
We want to raise children with high quality toys during their important development stages. We’ve prepared a selection of toys with that feeling in mind.
Nursery Rhymes
Most of the music time is based on Nursery Rhymes.
Nursery Rhymes cultivate children’s ability to focus, which connects to the act of listening to people’s voices and stories.
